I’m as lucky as can be, as the title of yoga teacher belongs to me!

I honestly never thought this would be my 'job', and to this day, I'm still struggling with calling it 'work'...

I've lived an active life for as long as I can remember; I've danced from the age of three, I was encouraged to adventure outdoors with the family as a child and I was a prominent member on most school sports teams. I was fortunate enough to receive a private education but I chose to leave at 16 to study Dance A-level at college. At 19, I became a Fitness Instructor, at 25 a Personal Trainer and just four years later, decided that my interest in wellness spanned further than just the physical.

When I look back, it doesn't surprise me that I've eventually ended up in a paid role in the health and wellbeing sector. It beats being 10 years old and trying to convince my parents I was going to be a sweet shop lady... (I've never lost that sweet tooth unfortunately.)

I'm not just a Yoga Teacher though. I'm an advocate for investing in your own health and wellbeing - physically and mentally. Focussing more on sustainable movement and functional yoga, to me, Yoga isn't just an activity - it's a discipline, it's a commitment and it's life-long.

Sass Yoga is about self-exploration and self-reflection; it's for those individuals who are interested in living a life of knowing who you are and who you could possibly be - more than what society is telling you to be. It's about digging deep - getting to know yourself physically and emotionally and being able to fight the challenges with the tools you learn along the way.

I know I teach differently. I combine all of my existing fitness knowledge, with a personal mental health experience and a passion to continually learn, research and develop. I ask 'why.' Why do we move one way or another? Why should we move a certain way? Why will moving in that way help us?

I know my style won't suit everyone and I'll lose people along the way, but I'm patient; I'm willing to work with those who are ready.

I'm honestly unapologetic.

I could teach a particular way that might be more popular but that's not in my heart. I want to remain passionate about sharing what I know and teaching what I believe is beneficial as well as continually being educated by my students.

You can choose to explore the perception of what you think Yoga is or you can come on this journey and gain so much more. I hope you want more.

I'm ready for this challenge, are you?

Come and see me soon, maybe on the mat or maybe just for a coffee... we all have to start somewhere.
